Our Signature

Each Copper Hinge frame takes over 50 different steps and 6-8 weeks to complete. From curing the
acetate, to inserting the hinge and hand polishing the final frame, each step
is individually important to creating a beaufiul pair of eyewear. Our signature Copper colored
hinge is a nod to the beginning of innovation and industrialization in America.

This is Our Story

Copper Hinge was founded by brothers Jack Erker, III and Tony Erker along with their father Jack Erker, Jr., 4th an 5th generation family members
in the optical industry. Copper Hinge is named after the patented Copper Color Hinge found on every single pair of eyewear. The copper material is a nod to innovation and modernization of the American economy in the 1800’s. This is same era the Erker family got started in the Optical Industry.

Over the years the Erker family have been involved in almost every aspect of the optical industry, throughout the years we have worked with some of the finest eyewear on the planet and have learned the luxury eyewear trade from the best in the business. Our Knowledge, passion and determination come through in the eyewear that we make.

We have spent the last four years perfecting our process. We feel the timing has never been better and we are extremely excited to launch our new factory right here in America.
